以琴观心 明心见性
Through the qin, the heart is seen.
The guqin (古琴) is a plucked seven-string instrument with more than three thousand years of history. Revered by scholars and literati, it has long been considered the most refined of Chinese musical arts — a vehicle for contemplation, self-cultivation, and the expression of inner life. In 2003, UNESCO inscribed the guqin tradition on its list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Pei Zheng is a Guqin performer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She began her formal study of the Guqin under Teacher Huang Xing, and has advanced her artistry under internationally recognized Mei'an-school master Lui Pui-Yuen (吕培原). She has also received guidance on qin theory from Wu Ruojie, President of the Guizhou Guqin Association. She has presented concerts, lectures, and workshops at universities and cultural institutions across the United States. Zheng is a lifetime member of the Guizhou Guqin Association and founder of the Chinese cultural brand XinEcho. Her work focuses on sharing Guqin music and promoting cross-cultural understanding through performance and education.

古调虽自爱,今人多不弹。
